Provincial funding provides for necessities of life, but NOT for activities that make life interesting and worthwhile. Residents enjoy music and stories, company, and parties but they may need a helping hand or someone to read for them. Residents need to celebrate important events in life: Birthdays, Christmas, Remembrance Day, and Church services.
We all have gifts and sharing them with others can have a wonderful effect. You can choose to participate in any activity or program or let us know if you have an idea for something new!

Compassionate Care
Listen to what is happening in their lives.
“We each have gifts according to the grace given to us.” --- Romans 12:6
The spiritual health of our residents is very important to us. It can make a big difference to their overall health and well-being. We are always searching for special people who connect on a spiritual level with those around them. Pastoral care is a vital part of our daily life. We provide several church services each week. Pastoral care volunteers help residents attend church and offer compassion to those who are living out their final days.
Quotes from our residents about what volunteering means to them.
“Volunteers brighten my day. They are my circle of friends.” Bill
“They are a great help and I am very thankful they come out to give us a hand.” Darlene
“I like when the volunteers come because they are nice to me and make me laugh.” Bessie
“They mean a lot. They help you. They are there when you need them. They help others when they could be doing things themselves.” Louise
Because of volunteers, we are able to fulfill our mission to provide quality of life for our residents. Volunteers give our residents purpose and things to look forward to outside of their regular daily routines.
